Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre launches Capacity Building Sessions (CBS) to “train-the-trainer” as a central part of the Le@d 3.0 Academy project

On Friday, 4th November 2016, the first Capacity Building Session of the Le@d 3.0 Academy project was launched. The Kick-off was held simultaneously in Münster, Germany and in Trieste and Milano, Italy. The second CBS round is following next week for the partners in Portugal and in Poland.

The session was held in the course of the Erasmus+ funded project Le@d 3.0 Academy, which aims at creating a knowledge alliance between academy and industry. The project’s objective is to develop strategic e-leadership skills for trainers by enhancing the use of social learning and Open Educational Resources (OERs).
The Capability Building Sessions are targeted at trainers and practitioners with teaching experience. During the face-to-face workshops in Germany and Italy, the participants were familiarized with the Lead 3.0 Virtual Academy and the Community of Practice. The platform provides a space to create e-tivities and OERs in order to design online courses and modules for students or project groups.
The participants learned about the understanding of the new leadership paradigm with respect to the development of Web 3.0. In group work and group discussions the participants developed thematic course for the project framework and tested the Community of Practice, virtual space for collaboration between the facilitators of the Academy. Also, the CBS training team gave an understanding of the technicalities for the use of the platform, which are necessary for the succeeding online phase.
An online Capacity Building Block follows up on the workshops over the course of three weeks. Participants are expected to work on a collaborative project to create a training course, with the aim of enhancing the learning process through the use of the Community of Practice.

The sessions in Germany and Italy were delivered by highly qualified trainers who took part in the creation process of the Lead 3.0 Academy. The German CBS was held on behalf of the Münster University of Applied Sciences through its Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) by Balzhan Orazbayeva and Sue Rossano. Further, the S2BMRC acted as a lead partner for the Capacity Building Session part of the project by designing the workshops, the learning materials and the three-week online capacity building block.
